Dr. Jessica Bertoglio is the owner and founder of the Toothery. She had the vision to create the Toothery in 2013 so that people could have a better dental experience. With 11 years of associate experience prior to opening the Toothery, she gained valuable skills in all phases of restorative dentistry and learned ways in which dentistry could be delivered in a more compassionate, efficient way. Every aspect of the Toothery was designed to be welcoming, comfortable, and as Dr. Jess says “not scary”. She also made it a priority to incorporate the newest, best technology to make the patient experience more comfortable.
Dr. Jess received her bachelors in Biology from University of Illinois in 1998 then continued at UIC College of Dentistry for her DDS degree. After dental school graduation in 2002 she did a year of hospital dentistry at the University of Iowa. This year in the hospital setting was instrumental for her love of learning surgery and working on medically compromised patients. After her hospital residency, she entered private practice and dove into continuing education on all phases of dentistry but especially surgery and digital dentistry. With advanced classes from the Garg Implant Institute, Gordan Christanson, The American Academy of Osseointegration, the Shatkin Institute, and the CEREC institute, she progressed her knowledge and expertise on digital and implant dentistry. As time progressed, she implemented complex implant dentistry into her practice and it is an area of focus that she really enjoys.
Above all, Dr. Jess loves getting to know patients and their families and loves restoring people back to good dental health.
When not doing dentistry, Dr. Jess is usually found riding horses with her daughters at their family farm or hanging out with her 4 dogs. She also loves to travel and see new places and enjoys being in nature.
Dr. Olivia Rudnicki grew up in Massachusetts and completed her undergraduate education at Boston University, where she received her BA in Linguistics. She continued her education at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, and went on to complete a general practice residency at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital.
Dr. Olivia is committed to forming a connection and sense of trust with each patient while providing attentive and comprehensive dental care. Her clinical training has given her a strong foundation in treating pediatric and adult patients, as well as those with various medical complexities. She incorporates patient education and prevention into her care as they are key in achieving and maintaining oral health.
Marsha is a vital member of The Toothery team, having started as a chairside assistant in 2015. Over the years, she has grown into an expanded function surgical assistant, implant and patient care coordinator and office manager. “The Toothery is the perfect place for me to focus on my passion for continuous learning and helping others.” she says. “It is a pleasure to ensure the office runs smoothly and incredibly rewarding to see patients through the entire dental experience- from their initial consultation to walking out with a beautiful, healthy smile they can be proud of.”
Marsha’s dedication to serving others extends beyond the dental office. She is the Vice President and Treasurer of Foundation9:22, a non-profit organization that provides dental care to women recovering from human trafficking and exploitation.
Outside of work, Marsha is a loving wife and mother of five. She spends much of her free time at family events, in the pottery studio or training for her next race. As an Ironman Triathlete and talented ceramic artist, Marsha’s handmade Foundation mugs can be found on display at The Toothery.
