Implants for Better Oral Health

Most of us realize that implants can improve the aesthetics of a smile. And after all, who doesn’t want a beautiful smile? This in-of-itself is of great value, however, implants are not just about looking good. Implants can help people maintain optimal oral health.

Maintaining Oral Health Is Vital

Tooth loss typically leaves gaps between teeth and this can lead to shifting of the remaining teeth in our mouth. Depending on the location of the gap(s) and the size of the gap(s), the shifting that results may cause further health issues down the road. In essence, keeping teeth aligned properly allows your mouth to function properly and avoid other health issues.

What Is an Implant?

Implants are stable teeth replacements that can be used to replace one missing tooth, several missing teeth, or even an entire set of teeth. The root of the tooth is replaced with a titanium screw in the jaw bone. Then after a period of healing, a replacement tooth is placed on top of the screw. It is a surgical procedure that we do in our office.

Implants are often a good option for many patients, and if properly cared for, implants can last a lifetime. The implant will look like a natural tooth too. Dr. Jess loves working on implants and restoring smiles. She keeps abreast of the latest technology and procedures regarding implants.
